How does LizziAI handle new patient intake without touching PHI?
LizziAI treats intake as a two-stage flow: operational triage in MiOpsAI, clinical intake in your EHR portal. This keeps every clinical detail inside the covered system while still automating the noisy first-touch work that eats front-desk hours.
Stage one, the prospective patient reaches out through your website form, phone message, or email. LizziAI captures the operational facts: name, preferred contact method, insurance carrier name (not member ID), reason for contact at the general level (new patient, transferring, second opinion, well visit), and geographic location. LizziAI drafts a response in your practice voice with next-step instructions and a secure portal invite link.
Stage two happens entirely inside your EHR. The patient clicks the portal invite and completes clinical intake (symptoms, medications, allergies, history) inside the covered system. MiOpsAI never sees any of that. When the EHR notifies the practice that intake is complete, LizziAI updates the operational record with a status flag (intake complete, ready to schedule) and drafts the scheduling outreach.
The result is that front-desk staff stop retyping the same twelve fields into three different systems, patients get faster responses, and no PHI ever leaves your EHR. LizziAI is explicitly trained to recognize when a patient starts describing symptoms in a non-portal channel and to redirect the conversation with a portal link rather than continue the exchange. The redirect script is customized during onboarding to match your practice's phrasing. See LizziAI capabilities for how the redirect logic works.
