Does MiOpsAI hold client assets or touch custody?
No. MiOpsAI does not hold client assets, does not touch custody, does not execute trades, does not have access to brokerage or bank credentials, and by design it never will. Your custodian (Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, Altruist, and others) remains the sole system of record for client positions and cash, and your portfolio management or trading platform remains the sole system of record for allocations and rebalancing.
MiOpsAI operates on the operational and communications layer around your custody and portfolio stack: prospect intake, client meeting scheduling and coordination, non-substantive client communication, review-meeting prep coordination, marketing and thought leadership, RIA compliance-adjacent coordination (which is different from compliance review, see below), team coordination, vendor management, and the ad-hoc chat that normally lives outside your compliance-supervised channels.
Nothing that touches custody enters MiOpsAI. Client account numbers, position data, cash balances, transaction history, and holdings analysis all live in the platforms designed to hold them. When a client asks a question about their portfolio in an operational thread, LizziAI redirects the conversation to the appropriate secure channel (portal message, phone call with the advisor, in-person meeting) rather than answering with account-level detail.
Practically, this means your operational productivity and client communication cadence improve without introducing a new custody-adjacent risk surface. Your compliance officer, IT security, and E&O carrier do not have to treat MiOpsAI as a custodian-adjacent system. It sits alongside your custody stack the same way your CRM sits alongside it, and it carries a comparable risk profile.
See the security and compliance FAQ set for the full custody boundary and the current SOC 2 status.
